Hit me up!

Wouldn't be friends with himself either.

Goose House

I mentioned in my last anime update that the best opening song comes from Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso. The song is Hikaru Nara by Goose House. The internet would have me believe Goose House is essentially taking random Japanese musicians, sticking them in a house, and seeing what happens when they stop being polite and start being real. Okay, maybe not that really, but I think part of that was true. Anyway, I guess they do somewhat regular Ustream things where they play covers and original songs. Besides looking like they have the maximum level of fun making music, I don't think there isn't an instrument at least one of them can't play or a vocal range that can't be hit. Here are a few of my favorite videos. Check out their YouTube channel. A lot of fun stuff.

Anime Watch List (2014-11-23)

Well, I'm really behind on my blogging and really behind with my anime update. We're just over half done with the season. It passes by so fast. There are a lot of really good shows this fall. A couple of duds were dropped, but I'm still keeping up with a more than healthy number of shows. The summer was pretty good (Aldnoah/Zero, Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, Sabagebu!, Ao Haru Ride), but I think this season will at least live up to that.

What's good? (Summer 2014)

Is it hot in here, or is it just this hot ass weather? By the way, I would sign the petition to officially replace "very" with "ass" because it is a good ass way to describe things. Anyway, it's been a while since I've done this thing. I have a somewhat good reason. I am back now, and will try to be back more often. It was a quick ass summer, but there were a lot of fun things that happened. There was foods and conventions and concerts and such. Let's get to it.

Anime Watch List (2014-08-03)

Well, we're just about one-third of the way through the summer anime season. Spring came and went with some good ones (No Game, No Life being the best of them and Nisekoi a top-tier carry over from Winter). I'm taking on a full boat of shows again—nine new shows, one spring leftover, one second season, and two shows that have yet to start. It's a very weekend-heavy schedule for me, which should make it easier to watch non-ongoing things during the week (though I am slightly behind currently because of the Comic Con). Anyway, I've got eleven shows I can talk about right now. Two I can say are bonafide hits, two more are pretty solid, and the rest are still pretty good (though there are some head scratchers in there). Let us anime~!

Break Classic

It's just a feeling. It's just a fear that sinks to the soul and turns us old. Well, I'm sorry, but that's not living. It's just a fear that—it's just a feeling like this that keeps me wide awake hoping that everything's OK...

What's good? (May 2014)

What month that May was. Oh, May! Not really quite gray, but that would have been quite welcome. The unseasonable weather made for some frantic times. There were still some good times, though. In spite of all the weirdness, it was actually a pretty all right month.

Anime Watch List (2014-05-11)

The passing of the Winter anime season has left a Kill la Kill sized hole in my heart. It was so good! It would be unfair for me to try to fill that void, but the Spring shows are trying their best. I used to try to limit myself to four or five in-season shows, but this time, I just said whatevs. Eleven shows. I actually dropped one show, and there's one guilty pleasure which I will not divulge. I can't say anything is really matching up to KLK, but there is a lot of good stuff out there. Spoilers ahead!

Monogatari Music

The Monogatari series is one of the more beloved anime out there. As I've mentioned before, its strong suit is its clever dialogue. Given that it's clever in Japanese, Monogatari is probably also an acquired taste. I don't get everything, and they even somewhat explain the word play sometimes. If you can't handle dialogue-heavy shows, then this isn't for you (also it is a little bit scandalous at times), but I will say, you are missing out. The characters are great, the animation is great, and story is pretty good, too. Also, the music is pretty top-notch. In the first two series—Bakemonogatari and Nisemonogatari (the only two I've watched so far)—the opening theme songs are performed by the female voice actors. I'm fairly certain the songs are related to their characters somehow. Even apart from that, all the OPs are pretty awesome and dance-y. Enjoy, if you choose to do so.

What's good? (April 2014)

Hey, now is the time on Sprockets when we discuss April. There really isn't too much to discuss though. First month of the second quarter was a'ight, I guess. Not terribly stressful, not terribly exciting. That's a bit of win, so I'll take it.

Ice Man Left a Trail

Working hard? It's hardly working at all, and I know now that way that I need to seem. Keep it down, don't make a sound. Play it off when everyone's around. I'd like to feel it could look up from here, but guess who's already jaded? I used to think I was invincible. Now, every last bit of false hope just leaves me miserable.
